Ellis County Equine Association Scholarship DEADLINE Must be postmarked no later than April 20. NO EXCEPTIONS.
The ELLIS COUNTY EQUINE ASSOCIATION is excited to provide scholarship opportunities to qualifying members of the Association.
The amount of the scholarships awarded may vary from year to year dependent upon the number of qualified applicants, the amount of money available in the scholarship funds and the years in which the applicant has been an active member of the Ellis County Equine Association. The scholarship will be paid directly to the college or trade school in which the applicant is enrolled, and the amount shall not exceed $1,000.00. The scholarship amount will be determined by the Ellis County Equine Association Board of Directors in place at the time the application is approved.
To qualify for the Nancy Jessup Scholarship the applicant must meet the following criteria:
The applicant must be classified as a High School Senior and successfully graduate within 90 days of submitting the application.
The applicant must be an active member of the Ellis County Equine Association either as an individual or family member. The membership must have been active for at least two (2) show seasons, which includes the show season in which the application is approved and the show season immediately prior. The applicant must have participated in a minimum of six (6) club sponsored activities during these two (2) show seasons, two (2) of which must be during the year the application is submitted.
Submit an essay of 500 - 750 words on the topic of "lessons learned through ECEA," with an optional page of pictures that may be attached.
Applicant must be accepted to a college, trade school or institution of higher education.
The application and required submissions must be mailed to the Nancy Jessup Scholarship Committee, 112 E. Main Street, Italy, Texas 76651, and postmarked no later than April 20.
