PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Hello Horse Buddies,

I know, I know, it was a bummer to have to postpone the first show of the buckle series due to weather. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that it doesn’t happen again! In case you haven’t seen it yet on the website or facebook page, the newly scheduled make-up date is June 12. We are still looking for a judge for that date.

It’s a busy time of year with activities popping up on the schedule often. Keep checking the website and your email for new events.

And remember that we need help in many areas at all of the shows and events. 6 hours per participant is required for year-end awards. Call show manager Becky at 972-977-2058 to volunteer please. Hope to see everybody at the next show!

ECEYA members attending the trail clinic on May 29 will have a brief meeting during the lunch break. Youth members need to start gathering sponsored prize items for the August 21 Youth Fundraiser Show. Kids are also trying to plan a day at the horse races at Lone Star Park.

General Membership Meeting

ECEA General Membership and Board of Director Meetings are held the third Thursday of every month at the Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce at 7:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend. The next scheduled meeting is May 20.

Clinics

Donna Weisberg will teach a trail riding and trail obstacle clinic on Saturday, May 29, at the C-Bar Ranch near Lake Whitney. The clinic and trail ride is free to ECEA members. The clinic will begin at 10 a.m. with instruction and obstacle training. Participants will then take a short lunch break (bring your own food) and then head out on the trail for a group ride. Participants may split into an advance (long ride on rougher terrain) group and beginner (easier terrain and shorter ride) IF needed.
