President’s Message

Howdy Folks, 

I don’t have a lot to report on this month, other than the show schedule change from June 4^th to August 20^th.  The board gave very careful consideration to this decision before it was made.  In the end we decided it was better to error on the side of caution and go ahead and cancel, and I hope everyone understands that we are looking out for our equine partners first in our decisions.  Stay cool and I hope to see everybody at the July 9^th show.

Membership

It’s not too late to renew your membership! Current members will receive the ECEA eHoofprints Newsletter, showbills, and all available discounts for club shows, clinics, trail rides and other events. If you join at the Corporate level you will also receive free advertising in the eHoofprints Newsletter and all club sponsored shows. Remember, you must be a current member to qualify for year-end awards. Follow the link below to find the Membership Application. General Membership Meeting

ECEA General Membership and Board of Directors meetings are held the third Thursday of every month at the Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce at 7:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.

The next meeting will be held July 21, 2011.

Horse Show News

Our June show has been re-scheduled for August 20, 2011.  It will be held at Mystic Acres, like all the others.

Don’t forget that the July show is our double judged show.  Two judges and double the points.

Our next show is scheduled for July 9th at Mystic Acres in Terrell. Books open at 8:00. The show starts at 9:00. Save time at the registration table by downloading and filling out the forms early.

Remember you must have a current negative Coggins to participate.

Also, to be eligible for year-end awards you or your representative must volunteer at least 6 hours. If you work at the show be sure to sign in at the registration table.

Volunteer Help Needed

We still need volunteers to help at all of our upcoming shows this season.  We are in need of announcers, ring stewards, sign up table help, and gate/ribbon workers. Remember, you need at least 6 hours of service credit to qualify for year-end awards. Any help you can give is extremely appreciated! Trail Rides

We are going to schedule either a trail ride or clinic for mid September.  Watch the newsletter and web site for more information.

Banquet

Mark your calendars! Our End of Year Banquet will be October 15^th at the Lakeview Conference Center in Waxahachie. Please join us as we look back and celebrate another exciting year of equine fellowship! More detailed information will be available soon.

Youth

The youth had a great time together at the June pool party.  The next event will probably be going to see the documentary “Buck” which is about Buck Brannaman, one of the first natural horsemanship clinicians.  Look for an email with more information.  Here is a link for more information about the movie: http://www.buckthefilm.com/
