PRESIDENT'S
MESSAGE
Howdy!
I’ll start
by saying
that I hope
everyone had
a Merry
Christmas,
and I hope
for a Happy
New Year for
all of us!
I’m very
pleased to
be selected
to serve as
President,
and am
looking
forward to
an exciting
and
productive
year. We
have planned
the show
dates for
2011. We’ll
be returning
to Mystic
Acres in
Terrell and
we’ll have
plenty of
opportunities
for everyone
to come and
enjoy the
shows and
help out.
It is a
great
opportunity
to learn a
lot about
showing and
all the work
that goes
into putting
on a horse
show. This
will be my
family’s
third season
in the show
series, so I
still have
tons to
learn! I am
very
thankful for
all the help
from the
ECEA board
and
members.
In addition
to shows,
the board is
planning on
some club
trail rides
and clinics
this year.
This is
going to be
an exciting
and fun
year! If
anyone has
any
suggestions
for me, the
club meets
the third
Thursday of
the month at
the
Waxahachie
Chamber of
Commerce at
7:30pm, or
you can

shows. If

Show Rule
Changes
The ECEA
board and
members met
December 11
to review
the club’s
by-laws and
show rules.
The
following
changes were
voted on and
approved.
By-Laws
1.
Membership -
All
membership
dues paid
after
October 1
will be
applied to
the
following
year’s
membership.
2.
Elections -
A call for
nominations
will be made
at the
October
General
Membership
meeting, and
candidates
will be
voted on at
the November
General
Membership
meeting.
3.
Elections -
If all
candidates
are running
unopposed,
then ballots
will not be
mailed.
Show Rules
1.
English
classes will
be held
after
Showmanship
and Yearling
Longe Line
classes, and
before
Western
classes.
2.
New Division
–Walk
Trot
Division, to
include
Western Walk
Trot,
Western
Horsemanship,
English Walk
Trot,
English
Equitation,
and Trail
-
Open to
riders age
12 and over
-
No
cross-over
to other
divisions
allowed
-
No Daily
High Point
award,
unless
specifically
sponsored
-
Year-End
Buckle and
Top 5 Awards

Horses may
be exhibited
in a snaffle
or curb bit,
regardless
of horse’s
age

No other
training
