PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Hello Horse Buddies, 

I would like to start this month by saying thank you to the exhibitors who came to the ECEA Warm-Up Show. It was a great sunny, yet windy day. Despite our fears about a soggy arena, the wind helped dry it up and make it perfect! It was a small turnout but the club did clear several hundred dollars to help get our season off to a good start. 

Thanks also to our various sponsors who are supporting ECEA this year. Please take a minute to look at the end of the newsletter and tell them thanks the next time you see them, or better yet, support their businesses! 

I hope by now, everybody is ready and excited for the official buckle series to start on April 24, at Mystic Acres in Terrell! A few rules have changed, as well as the show bill, so be sure to check the website at www.elliscountyequine.org .You must be a 2010 member to earn points towards daily high point and year-end award, so if you have not filled out a new membership application for this year, be sure to do so before or at the first show! Those forms will be available at the show and on the website. 

Remember that this club survives on a volunteer basis. Because of this it is a requirement to donate 6 hours of time per person at an ECEA event to be eligible for year-end awards. We need help at every show! Please contact our show manager Becky at 972-977-2058 to sign up for a job.

The youth had a great first meeting in early March, with several new members attending. After electing officers and making suggestions for the new year, the kids had a great time playing mounted games. 2010 officers are:

The next youth  meeting will be held in conjunction with a clinic on May 29. Time and place TBA.

General Membership Meeting

ECEA General Membership and Board of Director Meetings are held the third Thursday of every month at the Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce at 7:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend. The next scheduled meeting is May 20. THERE WILL NOT BE A GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING THURSDAY, APRIL 15. IT HAS BEEN CANCELLED!

 Clinics

A trail ride and trail riding clinic is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, May 29. Time and place are to be announced soon! Monica Bishop is our clinic chairman. If you have specific clinic topics you would like to suggest, please email her at mon100500@yahoo.com or call 972-825-6197.
