Ellis County Equine Youth Association
The Ellis County Equine Youth
Association is a very active horse club where youth
can gather together for some great fun and
educational youth activities. ECEYA attends several
clinics, trail rides, field trips, and social events
throughout the year. A high light of their year, is
organizing and promoting their own Youth Schooling
Show where they raise money for their year end field
trip, participation trophies and sportsmanship
buckle.
Each youth who participates in at
least four ECEA activities during a calendar year, will
receive a participation award at the club's year-end
award banquet. Also awarded at the banquet, is the Nancy
Jessup Sportsmanship Award belt buckle, for which only
the youth vote for whom best epitomizes a good sport
during the year's competitions. Some come join in and
have some good "horsey" fun in 2011!
Youth News
The Ellis County Equine Youth Association is
proud to announce their 2011 officers. Pictured from
left are from left, Secretary Alyssa Ballew,
Treasurer Chesley Hinds, Vice President Elizabeth
Terry, and President Courtney Griffith. The youth
met on March 19, at the Flying Dollar Ranch in Italy
for their first meeting of the year. The group
elected officers, played horse soccer, went on a
trail ride, and had a hamburger cook-out.

ECEYA's next event will be on Tuesday, March 15
(during Spring Break), for a Painting and Pizza
Party at 11 a.m. at the Flying Dollar Ranch. Youth
and any adults who would like to join in will be
painting ECEA's horse show trail equipment so that
it will look great for show season. Wear clothes you
can get dirty. The hours spent working on the
equipment will count as work hours for the 2011 show
season. Every participant going for a year-end award
is required to work 6 work hours during the year to
qualify for an award. For more information call
Youth Chairman Beth Ballew at 214-683-6907.
